A new MacBook

Rumors are wrong! Apple didn't release a new low-end version of the PowerBook. Instead it rebranded it and called the line MacBook. The new thing is sporting the new Intel dual-core Yonah processor.

The iMac has also been shifted to the new architecture

Also, there's this new application called iDVD shipping with iLife. iPhoto was also improved.

Details of new stuff here:

For those waiting for a new iBook. Sorry to disappoint you but there isn't any...

Now I can go back to sleep...I was half-awake 'til this time. Well, I guess I still have to eye for that iBook huh? hehehe :-P

Ah, no! The previous version of the PowerBook along that spec would probably get cheaper! Let's just wait and see :-)

Mac OS X on an Intel machine

I have been craving for a Mac since I started with photography. With news that Apple will be shipping the Mac OS with Intel hardware, this dream is somehow coming true. Would this mean cheaper iBooks and Powerbooks? We don't know.

I found this link that seems to be very interesting. It's about Building a Mac using Intel hardware. You might not want to wait for the new ones to be shipped by Apple ;-)

Nah, I still think it would still be nice to have the Apple logo glowing in the dark in my digital dark room. hehehehehe. However it would be fun to have a Windows free machine at home dual-booted with my favorite Linux flavor. Yes, windows free!!!

My new toy - the iPod Video

This is my new baby. Makes life here less boring. The bus ride to work is more enjoyable now.

The packaging of Apple is very neat. Maybe that's why it's that pricey. haha! The box design is cool. The size is just right. However, opening it is somewhat confusing at first.

As of this date, I've watched 1 smallville episode, one full movie, and listened to a bunch of songs. Just started to watch Star Wars Empire strikes back. Sound quality is awesome! Apple did a great job. Imagine now you can watch your favorite movie with surround sound. I didn't even get external speakers. Just used the earphones that came with it. The bass and clarity is unbelievable.

The iPod video is also handy for transferring files from PC to PC because it could be used as an external HDD as well. Pretty handy if you need some external backup storage.

Some downsides though. The screen is easily scratched so better get a protector for it. I got one this weekend at Funan. Another thing, it does not come with a power adaptor that you can easily plug into a power outlet. This would be pretty handy if you don't have your laptop around. And, it doesn't have a comprehensive manual. What if I didn't have Internet to download the guides. Apple assumed that users would be tech-savvy and would know what to do. Nevertheless, I still consider it as a must-have gadget for music and movie buffs.

Anyway, I really got my money's worth here. I just can't wait to get his big brother. soon...maybe sometime next year.

Java.net project website down

I was accessing our project websites for LemonSMS and Patriot in the java.net website. Guess what?!!! The project sites are down. How do you expect souceforge users to port everything Java into java.net if Sun can't make their servers reliable.
I got this page damn!
